Fall is finally here!

Hopefully, cooler days are right around the corner as Fall is one of my favorite times to explore Charleston and all it has to offer. The town is still alive with activities and the hottest weather has taken its leave placing outdoor options at the top of my to do list for my free time. As the leaves start to change, get out and explore Charleston at its finest.

Live Charleston and live well!

One of Charleston’s Finest: The Aiken Rhett House

Approaching its 200th anniversary next year, the Aiken Rhett House is nationally recognized as one of the best-preserved townhouse complexes and a truly significant piece of Charleston’s history. Originally built by merchant John Robinson, it was later purchased and expanded by Governor and Mrs. William Aiken, Jr. The property includes the main house, the original slave quarters, carriage block and back lot.

The Historic Charleston Foundation has worked diligently to maintain the home in the condition it was in when they assumed ownership allowing visitors to the property to travel back in time to urban life in antebellum Charleston.

Learn more about the history of the home and what you can see when you visit. Daily tours are available as well as special events on occasions such as the upcoming Candlelight Tour on October 11.
